Low Gap
Who is Low Gap?
After five years of steady growth behind the scenes, Low Gap is positioned for a massive breakout in 2026. Brothers Gus and Phin Johnson spent the past year-and-a-half with their proverbial feet slammed on the gas and have hundreds of shows and a slew of singles to show for it. The duo recently announced the release of their debut album, Geneva, which is bound to expand their ever-growing audience to new heights. Gus and Phin, known for their well-crafted songs and animated concerts, have roots planted in Ohio and Eastern Kentucky, which show up clearly in their music. They, along with their five-piece band, blend 90’s alt-country and americana music with modern country sentiment. Original and unique, their songs manage to garner mainstream attention and critical acclaim from all corners of the increasingly diverse country genre.
For the industry:
After several years of playing the singles game, Low Gap is ready to release a full-length album in January of 2026. The growth over 2025 was immense, as the duo tacked on their third million-stream song in “If a Song Could Change Your Mind” with Brendan Walter, on top of several other impressive singles. This past month, they released “Beattyville” with Julia DiGrazia, which is on track to be another fan-favorite for the band. They’ll end the year with “Ranch Style House” on November 28, around the time when the album release is to be announced.
The band is performing well on Social Media with over 29,000 and 17,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram, respectively, and their fan engagement is notable for their size. Low Gap is growing quickly in Midwestern markets, having ended the year with a sold out show in Ohio following support runs with Kat Hasty, Chris Knight, Colby Acuff, and Tophouse, among others. Their Spotify listenership is up 83% year-to-year and their Apple Music following has grown by 123%.
